    South Fork High School's Community

South Fork High School is a comprehensive high school set on 157 acres in southwestern Martin County, FL. SFHS was authorized as an IB World School offering the full diploma in 1996. Serving a diverse population, the school had its first graduating class in 1984. Our students’ socioeconomic range stretches from one of the wealthiest areas of our nation to economically disadvantaged, with every intervening level represented in the school. Major employers in the County are the local not-for-profit hospital and the school system. Neighboring Palm Beach County houses several subsidiaries of United Technologies and many parents commute to work in Palm Beach and Broward Counties. The western zone is agricultural and many of our families work in that industry.

Currently 1957 students attend SFHS with this ethnic distribution:
    Asian-2 percent                      Black-7 percent                       Hispanic-33 percent          Indian-0.5 percent
    Multi-2 percent                       Pacific Islander-0.5 percent      White-55 percent

    • 37% of the population is eligible for Free and Reduced Lunch
