Dear Parents, Guardians, and Community Members:
Thank you for being an important part of the Martin County School District family! Collectively, we have so much to offer our students to help them grow and develop their skills in academics, career technology, the arts, athletics, community service, and more.
The success of each and every student depends on the partnership between the student, teachers, administrators, and parents. Whether you are a newcomer to our schools, or are a parent who is already well familiar with the District, I encourage you to come to your child’s school and become an active partner in your child’s education. You have many opportunities to influence and support your child’s daily learning progress.
The Martin County School District serves more than 19,000 students from Pre-Kindergarten through Adult. Each school day, we open the doors of 12 elementary schools, five middle schools, one interim placement facility, and three comprehensive high schools to create a dynamic educational network that spans Martin County. In addition, the district’s Environmental Studies Center provides educational experiences for all students in grades Kindergarten through seventh, and special programs for high school students in Marine Biology and Environmental Science. The District also provides The Willoughby Learning Center for students with exceptional needs, as well as Pre-Kindergarten and adult education program sites.
Our competitive academic achievements, industry-driven Career Academy curriculum, and outstanding cultural arts and athletic programs are among Florida’s best. The Martin County School District is consistently ranked among the state’s top performing school districts, is officially recognized as an Academically High-Performing District, and is fully accredited by AdvancED, the parent organization of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement.
In addition, several District initiatives - including enhanced campus security, virtual instruction programs through MOSAIC Digital Academy, and two Parent Resource Centers - reflect the District’s timely response to the challenges of an ever-changing educational landscape.
But the true strength of the Martin County School District is in the quality of its instructional and support staff. As Martin County’s second largest employer, more than 3,200 district professionals work together as a team to provide our students with a world-class education in a safe and optimum learning environment.
Thank you for sharing your enthusiasm and support with our students, teachers, and administrators. I welcome you to visit the Martin County School District, and come back to our schools again and again. But be more than a visitor – be involved. Be a fan…be a volunteer…be a mentor…be an advocate for education! We’ll all be glad that you did.
