This week is one of my favorites, Homecoming!
Homecoming week continues tomorrow after Monday’s successful Country vs. Country Club, Tuesday is Twin Day. If you are still looking for a twin, wear a black shirt and khaki pants, you can be my twin, make sure your beard is tight though.
On Monday, Seniors met with Herff Jones about Graduation regalia, Herff Jones will be on campus next week (10/21 & 10/22) and you can always order online.
Tuesday night, 10/15, MCSD will be hosting College and career night at MCHS from 5-7pm. featuring numerous college/university representatives, military recruiters and career path representatives who will speak with families about students' high school, post-secondary and financial aid options. Workshops will take place throughout the evening on a variety of topics: planning/saving for college, the financial aid process, career and technical education (CTE) programs (for middle school students preparing for the transition to high school) and the college admissions process.
Our week continues on Wednesday with Decades Day. Wednesday is also the PSAT with an alternative bell schedule. If your student has an off block or dual enrolled be sure to check the website for the correct class schedule. All 10th grade and select 9th & 11th graders will be testing. Feel free to bring your own calculator. If you don’t have one, one will be provided. If your child will be signing out of school early, you are encouraged to bring a note to the attendance office on Tuesday.
Wednesday night from 4:30-6:30, SFHS will host the first ever Clash of the Classes, Forknite. A pep rally under the lights. Students are encouraged to attend.
Thursday is character day, students are reminded to be tasteful and no full face coverage of masks. The SFHS Homecoming parade will begin at 5:45 in Hobe Sound Thursday night, Come check out our student created floats and see our teams, clubs and superior rated Marching Band!
Our school week concludes with a morning pep rally and the big game on Friday night. The theme for our Dawg Pound is Tie Dye, get ready to jump around between the 3rd & 4th quarters. Doors open around 6, students will need their ID and no backpacks or reentry will be allowed.
The Homecoming Dance begins at 7pm at SFHS on Saturday, must have your ticket ID and no entry after 9pm. Tickets will be on sale for $20 the remainder of the week and our Homecoming royalty will be coroneted at 9:30 pm.
Last thing, parents make sure your students stay academically focused; quarter 1 is in the books and report cards go out next week. Parent teacher conferences are on October 30. Let’s keep the excitement going, check us out on twitter, dress up and participate.

October 14-19 is South Fork High School's Homecoming Week. Below are the dress up days. Get involved and have some FUN! Remember, the class with the most spirit wins an Ice Cream Party, 1/2 Price Admission to the Game, and Braging Rights for a Year! Who will be the most spirited class?

On October 30th, South Fork will host a Financial Aid Night at SFHS. 6:30pm in the Plaza. An IRSC representative will present and be available to answer FAFSA questions. Spanish translation available.

*In order to buy tickets you must not have any financial obligations
*You must also have your permission slip packet signed & have school ID with you
*Permission slips can be picked up in student services.
Herff Jones Campus Visits:
Senior Class meeting Monday, October 14th at 9:55 AM in the auditorium. Herff Jones rep. will be present to review all things graduation! Seniors will be excused from their restorative circles to attend this meeting.
Save-the-date: IRSC dual enrollment info session Oct. 24, 6:00pm, at
the Chastain campus (Stuart). All those interested in DE should attend.
Planning to be a Volunteer?
Registration begins online August 5, 2019.
Level 1 volunteers are required to complete an e270 prior to their on campus service during school hours.
Level 2 volunteers have to complete a registration every year and require a background screening every two years. Any service on our campus during non-school hours and ALL off campus service requires level 2 clearance. (This includes all drivers as well.)
