Jensen Beach High School is proud to recognize its student-athletes for academic excellence during the fall sports season. Each year, the Florida High School Athletic Association honors athletic programs by naming Academic Team Champions. In order to qualify, a sports team must have a grade point average of at least a 3.0 on an unweighted 4.0 scale. The team’s grade point average is then compared to all other schools in the state with similar enrollment sizes. Class 7A includes Jensen Beach High School and approximately 90 other high schools.
Two athletic programs at Jensen Beach High School received the title of state Academic Team Champions for the fall season: Girls Volleyball and Girls Golf. Girls Cross Country, Boys Swimming, and Football also finished with top-10 GPAs in the state. Teams finishing in the top-10 are awarded points for the overall school Athletic Team Championship which is calculated throughout the year during the fall, winter, and spring sports seasons. At this time, Jensen Beach trails the reigning state champion, Fort Myers High School, by two points for the year.
This is a remarkable accomplishment by a fantastic group of Falcon student-athletes who strive to set themselves apart not only on the court or the playing field, but in the classroom as well. The Falcon athletes continue to demonstrate their commitment to excellence by being named among the top performing schools in the state of Florida in the Class 7A division. As always - it’s great to be a Falcon!
