District Receives FLDOE Approval for Spring 2021 Education Plan
The Martin County School District has received approval from the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) for its Spring 2021 Education Plan. The plan, which is a continuation of the District’s 2020-2021 Reopening Planthat was approved by FLDOE in August, places emphasis on targeted outreach and intervention for struggling students, opportunities for increased communication and engagement with families, and encouragement for parents/guardians to select traditional (in-person) learning for their children when possible.
"We know that the majority of students perform best when they are physically present in classrooms and receiving instruction from highly-qualified teachers," Superintendent John D. Millay said. “The District will follow the requirements issued by the Florida Department of Education, offering targeted intervention and support to students who are struggling to make adequate progress. We remain committed to partnering with our families to ensure that every child is learning, demonstrating growth and achieving success."
