A message from Mr. Blavatt 7/31/2020

A message to parents and students!

Bulldog Nation,

It is hard to believe that we have not been face to face in nearly 5 months. Well, it is time for us all to come back together. As we prepare to return, either in person or remotely from home, there are some details you need to know before we officially begin classes on Tuesday, August 11th.

Incoming 9th graders, Class of 2024, welcome to our family. We want to officially welcome those that will be coming to South Fork with an orientation on Monday, August 10th. Incoming 9th grade students will arrive by parent drop off, or by bus, for an 8:00am arrival. Our orientation day will end at noon. Students will leave, as they arrived; by bus or parent pick up. For our remote learning students an online orientation will be offered beginning at 10:00am, more information will be emailed in the upcoming days.

As a new Bulldog you will need your school ID badge. I am excited to share that you can come to South Fork between 10:00am -2:00pm Tuesday, August 4th, through Thursday August 6th, to take your picture and leave with your ID. For safety reasons, you will need to sign up for a window of time using this link and await a call or text before entering the ID station. In addition, students who can provide their own transportation will be offered the opportunity to obtain their ID after Freshman Orientation hours by remaining on campus up to 3:00pm.

All students that attended SFHS last school year, may continue to use their previously issued school ID. Students in need of replacement will also need to schedule a window of time using this link, to acquire a new ID.

Incoming 9th graders, and South Fork students that do not have a Laptop 4 Learning device, will be able to pick up one of these devices at SFHS on Friday, August 7th between 1:00pm - 5:00pm. Any incoming 9th grader who already has a district issued device may retain that device for use until further notice. A valid student ID will be required in order to receive your laptop. Because SFHS students are both on campus and remote, priority for devices will be offered to those who have completed the MCSD survey and selected remote learning.

A zoom meeting for parents will occur on Wednesday August 5th at 6:00pm, click the link here.

Should you have questions prior to any of these events, feel free to email us at sfhshelp@martin.k12.fl.us

Sincerely,

Jay T. Blavatt
