Environmental Studies Center Council Events

The Council -website http://escmc.org/

The Environmental Studies Council, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, was established in 1978 to support, protect and enhance the unique environmental educational programs of the Environmental Studies Center in Martin County, Florida. The Council is made up of a volunteer Board of Trustees who work to promote and extend environmental awareness in Martin County through community education.

Each year, the Council provides several free outreach and educational programs to the community, including the annual Environmental Lecture Series, an Open House at the Center, Grandparents Day at the Center, an Earth Day celebration, and more. The Council also provides funding for college scholarships, a teaching position at the Center, educational outreach programs, and other projects throughout the year.  Most recently, more than 100 donors helped the Environmental Studies Council raise over $195,000 to create the Center’s new Sea Turtle Exhibit, which can easily accommodate an entire class and includes a state-of-the art filtration system, which improves water quality for the sea turtle tank and all of the aquariums at the Center.

Activities of the Council are made possible thanks to the ongoing generosity of individuals and organizations throughout the community.  For more information on the Council, or to make a donation, contact us at info@escmc.org or call 772-219-1887 x 121.
