We are HOBE SOUND ELEMENTARY

The original Hobe Sound Elementary opened in 1962 when the Olympia [Apollo] School located in Zeus Park, closed. Our school originally served many communities and neighborhoods within Stuart, Hobe Sound, and Tequesta. Our current school building was dedicated and opened in 2004 and we continue to serve many of the original neighborhoods and communities as well as now welcome open enrollment from all areas each school year.
Hobe Sound Elementary is Martin County Public School's Academy of the Arts and Global Studies. As the Academy of the Arts and Global Studies, we are committed to fostering students’ appreciation for and engagement with the arts, including music, as well as two- and three-dimensional visual arts. Our goal is to provide meaningful opportunities for creative expression both within and beyond the classroom. We are also committed to support learning through experiences both on and off campus as part of our school day.
In response to student interests this fall, we will expand our offerings by developing and hosting additional after-school clubs focused on the arts and other areas of enrichment. We have recently hosted multiple arts and crafts clubs, a variety of sports activities, environmentally focused clubs like 4H and Nature Know it Alls, a student led news crew, Safety Patrol, and multiple chorus and musical instrument ensembles. (recorder, ukulele, and steel drums).
Academically, our classroom learning plans are designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to engage thoughtfully and effectively with both their local communities and the broader global society.
