Parent Teacher Association
The mission of the PTA is to support and speak on behalf of the children in our school, to assist parents in developing the skills needed to raise and protect their children, and to encourage parent and public involvement in our school. Our PTA strives to build a closer relationship between the home and the school and foster an atmosphere in which parents and teachers can develop and secure the highest educational advantages for the children.
Our VP of Programs is working hard this year to bring a great assortment of fun, educational, family-oriented, multicultural, and character building programs to our school. It takes many people to make all of these wonderful events and opportunities happen for our kids, families and school staff!
BUSINESS PARTNERSHIPS
PTA works very hard all year long to get each classroom adopted with a sponsorship of $200, which goes directly to the teachers for resources for our kids! Our PTA Business Liaison is always working hard to build relationships with businesses in our community so that we have the support and resources we need to help fund all that PTA does for our school! ASSEMBLIES AND CHARACTER PROGRAMS
PTA strives very hard each year to help our Pinewood students meet their character development and educational goals through providing several assemblies each year during the school day and even offered sometimes at night for our families to attend. We plan for events that will support the values and academic achievement of our students and families, and align with current school programs such as Character Counts and PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports).
HOSPITALITY
Our PTA Hospitality Chairperson, is responsible for arranging a great dinner each conference night for our teachers. We appreciate all that they do and we love to spoil them with a great meal! Hospitality also arranges events like the Welcome Back Breakfast for PWE staff.

SPIRIT
Pride in our school is something that PTA greatly encourages as it builds loyalty and dedication to the kids and staff that work so hard every day to make our school the best it can be! Need Spirit gear? Go to our hub to place an order.
VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION
This includes all you need to know to help out Pinewood! Mandatory for any parents, grandparents, friends or community members that want to volunteer at Pinewood. Our volunteer coordinator, works very hard all year to get volunteers arranged for numerous events such as, picture days, help in the classroom, PTA events, and much, much more!
YEARBOOK
Our PTA signs a contract each Spring for our yearbooks the following year. It takes a lot of effort to take pictures all year long and then compile them into a colorful, creative, memorable keepsake for our kids, but all the hard work is worth it! This year we have chosen a new company and look forward to the result!

Fundraising
Our VP of Fundraising works hard all year long to ensure the integrity, efficiency, and accuracy of our fundraising events. Although, every organization, including PTA, needs to raise money in order for us to have the means to provide for all of the programs listed above, fundraising is not all we are about. As a school, for each fundraiser, we strive to hold 3 programs for our kids. We are not here to have a large amount in the bank, but our goal is to use these funds each year to promote the development of our kids, show appreciation for our hard working staff and fill in the gaps with all that comes in between.
BOOK FAIR
100% of the book fair proceeds goes directly to the Media Center to buy new books and support reading programs at Pinewood.
PINEWOOD’S ANNUAL WALK-A-THON
Our annual walk-a-thon is another event that the kids love! This event creates great spirit, energy and fun for our students! We have great music and enjoy the exercise and encouragement of seeing our Pinewood kids walking for their school! The funds from Walk-A-Thon generally go towards end of the year events, such as 5th grade graduation and providing a strong foundation for the incoming PTA Board.

Our VP of Membership, works hard all year to promote PTA membership which provides membership to the local, state and national PTA. There are many benefits to your PTA membership and after the dues are paid, the additional monies go straight to our PTA programs that directly benefit our kids and families.
