For more than 36 years, Willoughby Learning Center—formerly known as Challenger—has proudly served the Martin County community as the district’s designated alternative education program for at-risk students.
Our mission is to provide a structured, supportive learning environment where students can focus on achieving both academic and behavioral success. Through a blended learning approach that integrates small-group instruction with the Edgenuity online curriculum, we are able to personalize instruction and meet the diverse needs of every learner.
Serving students in grades K–12, Willoughby Learning Center is a unique program within Martin County that supports those who benefit from a more structured educational setting, including students who have been administratively placed on our campus.
We are deeply committed to addressing the academic, social, and emotional well-being of all students. Our comprehensive support services include access to on-site therapists, a crisis interventionist, and additional community-based resources designed to promote student growth and resilience.
