During its meeting held this evening, June 20, the Martin County School Board approved Superintendent Michael Maine's reorganization plan and administrative recommendations for the 2023-2024 school year.
"My primary and immediate goal is for the Martin County School District to become Florida's number one school system," Superintendent Maine shared. "Every decision made has been carefully crafted around what I believe will serve the best interest of schools and our organization as a whole. The purpose of this reorganization plan is to leverage the talents and abilities of our team in a way that positions us to succeed. We want to ensure we continue operating efficiently while providing consistent, excellent customer service to our students, schools and community."
The following changes will take effect on July 1, 2023:
- Dr. Tracey Miller, current Assistant Superintendent of Academics, is to become Deputy Superintendent.
- Mr. Troy LaBarbara, current Executive Director of Principals & Professional Standards, is to become Assistant Superintendent of Academics.
- Ms. Lisa Estevez, current Executive Director of Exceptional Student Education (ESE), is to become Assistant Superintendent of Student Support Services.
- Mr. Frank Frangella, current Director of Safety & Security, is to become Chief of Safety & Security.
- Ms. Jennifer DeShazo, current Director of Public Information & Community Relations, is to become Chief of Staff & Strategic Communications.
- Ms. Wilma Almestica-Sanchez, current Coordinator of Exceptional Student Education (ESE), is to become Director of ESE.
- Ms. Lana Barros, current Coordinator of College & Career Readiness, is to become Director of Innovation & Choice.
- Ms. Elizabeth Kennedy, current administrator in the Orange County (Florida) School District, is to become Director of Curriculum & Instruction.
- Mr. Daniel Moore, current school administrator in the Jefferson County (Florida) School District, is to become Director of Assessment & Accountability.
- Ms. Heather Platt, current Coordinator of Professional Development, is to become Director of Professional Learning.
- Ms. Jennifer Lubeno, current Coordinator of Digital Learning, is to become Coordinator of Professional Learning.
- Ms. Sherry Richardson, current Principal at Citrus Grove Elementary School, is to become Coordinator of Professional Standards.
- Ms. Pam Kimberlin, current Specialist - Risk & Benefits, is to become Coordinator of Benefits & Leave.
- Mr. Anthony Smiley, current Allocations Specialist, is to become Manager of Staffing Allocations & Accounts Payable.
- Mr. Alan Middleton, current General Fund Accountant, is to become Senior Accountant.
- Ms. Maggie Dromerhauser, current Secretary - Public Information & Community Relations/Safety & Security, is to become Specialist - Public Information & Community Relations.
- Ms. Darcia Borel, current Principal at Dr. David L. Anderson Middle School, is to become Principal at Citrus Grove Elementary School.
- Ms. Ebony Jarrett, current Principal at Stuart Middle School, is to become Principal at Dr. David L. Anderson Middle School.
- Dr. Christopher Jones, current Principal at Hidden Oaks Middle School, is to become Principal at Stuart Middle School.
- Ms. Trisha Elliott, current Assistant Principal at Hidden Oaks Middle School, is to be promoted to Principal at Hidden Oaks Middle School.
- Mr. William Bickley, current Assistant Principal at Indiantown Middle School, is to become Assistant Principal at Dr. David L. Anderson Middle School.
- Ms. Jacqueline Scott, current Assistant Principal at South Fork High School, is to become Assistant Principal at Indiantown Middle School.
- Ms. Kristin Carbone, current Assistant Principal at Martin County High School, is to become Assistant Principal at Murray Middle School.
- Mr. Guillermo Orozco, current Assistant Principal at Murray Middle School, is to become Assistant Principal at Hidden Oaks Middle School.
- Mr. Derek Gordon, current Assistant Principal at Pompano Beach High School (Broward County Public Schools), is to become Assistant Principal at Murray Middle School.
- Ms. Janice Cizek, current Assistant Principal at South Fork High School, is to become Assistant Principal at Martin County High School.
- Ms. Diane McMurry, current Assistant Principal at Dr. David L. Anderson Middle School, is to become Assistant Principal at South Fork High School.
- Ms. Jamie Herd-Tesson, current Assistant Principal at Martin County High School, is to become Assistant Principal at South Fork High School.
