PCE Nikki Cohen

Second grade teacher Nikki Cohen of Bessey Creek Elementary School is being celebrated for her outstanding dedication to students, families, and the teaching profession.

Ms. Cohen was recently featured by CBS12 News in their “Teacher Feature” segment, which highlights educators across the region who go above and beyond to support student success. She was nominated for the recognition by Superintendent Michael Maine after a heartfelt message from a parent praised her for proactive communication and her unwavering support of students' individual needs.

Though this is her first year teaching in Florida, Ms. Cohen brings 14 years of experience to the classroom. Her enthusiasm for second grade is rooted in the tremendous growth she witnesses in her students.

“This is by far my favorite grade level,” she shared. “They’re still learning the fundamentals, but they also begin to discover a love for reading and math."

Ms. Cohen’s classroom is guided by love, connection, and intentional support. She believes in honoring each student’s individuality and embracing their unique needs.

The parent who nominated Ms. Cohen praised her for always putting students first and creating a welcoming and encouraging environment for both children and families.

Ms. Cohen hopes to continue creating a classroom culture where students feel valued, capable, and inspired to reach their full potential.

We are incredibly proud to have educators like Ms. Cohen shaping the future of Martin County and look forward to all she will accomplish in the years to come.
