Prek FLDOE Designations

The Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) released its 2024–2025 Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program (VPK) designations, and every Martin County School District Pre-K site met or exceeded state expectations.

This marks the first year VPK providers are being evaluated under a new accountability system that measures how well they support children’s learning and achievement, while also offering targeted assistance for improvement when needed.

FLDOE assigns each VPK provider an annual performance designation based on three factors:

  • Quality of instruction, measured by class composite score based on teacher instruction.

  • Student achievement, determined by statewide VPK FAST assessments.

  • Learning gains, reflecting the growth of students over the program year.

In 2024–2025, all 15 Martin County School District sites were recognized for their success, with no sites receiving probationary or corrective designations.

Site designations are as follows:

  • Excellent – Citrus Grove Elementary, Hobe Sound Elementary, J.D. Parker Elementary, SeaWind Elementary, Warfield Elementary

  • Above Expectations – Bessey Creek Elementary, Crystal Lake Elementary, Jensen Beach Elementary, Pinewood Elementary, Salerno School House

  • Meets Expectations – Felix A. Williams Elementary, Palm City Elementary, Perkins Childhood Center, Salerno Learning Center, Stuart Learning Center

“These designations highlight the dedication of our outstanding Pre-K teachers and staff, who give their all each day to support the growth and development of our youngest learners,” Superintendent Michael Maine said. “We are proud to provide families across Martin County with an A-rated education that begins in our early learning programs and prepares children for a bright future.”

This achievement underscores the District’s commitment to providing high-quality early childhood education, ensuring students enter kindergarten ready to learn and thrive.
