Celebrating Constitution Week

The Martin County School District is proud to celebrate Constitution Week!

On August 15, 2023, the Martin County School Board approved the 2023 Proclamation for Constitution Week, which was drafted in partnership with Ms. Portia B. Scott and the Halpatiokee Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Constitution Week is observed annually from September 17 to September 23. This year, we are celebrating the 236th anniversary of the signing of the United States Constitution!

The District partners with the local law community to supplement the teaching of this historic document and how it impacts our lives today. Students can expect local judges, such as Judge Darren Steele of the 19th Judicial Circuit, to explain the three branches of government, the history of the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and much more.
