As families across Martin County prepare for the start of a new school year, there’s good news for those looking to save on supplies. Florida’s Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday will run from August 1-31, 2025, offering shoppers a full month of tax-free savings on many school-related items.
During this period, the following items are exempt from sales tax:
Learning aids and jigsaw puzzles priced at $30 or less
Most school supplies selling for $50 or less
Clothing, footwear, and accessories priced at $100 or less
Computers and related accessories (for non-commercial, personal use) priced at $1,500 or less
To help make back-to-school shopping even easier, the Martin County School District has partnered with TeacherLists, a free and user-friendly tool that allows families to view classroom-specific supply lists and shop for needed items directly from popular retailers such as Amazon, Target, Walmart, and more.
