Sharks Capture Back‑to‑Back County Championships With 65–55 Win
The Sharks cemented their place atop county basketball once again on Monday night, defeating Murray Middle School 65–55 to claim their second consecutive county championship.
The victory capped off a dominant season defined by relentless defense, balanced scoring, and consistent effort from the entire roster. Head Coach Mr. Carranante praised his team following the championship performance, emphasizing both their character and commitment.
“I really feel lucky to have been able to work with this group of kids this year. I couldn’t have asked for a better team,” Carranante said. “As talented as they are, they are even more hard‑working, and that is what led to our championship season.”
Defense proved to be the cornerstone of the Sharks’ success throughout the year. The team routinely held opponents to under 25 points, establishing an identity built on energy, effort, and disciplined team play — traits that were on full display in the title game.
“The energy and effort they came out with in the championship was consistent with what we have seen all year, and I was so proud of that performance,” Carranante added.
Offensively, the Sharks once again showcased their depth, with contributions coming from across the lineup. While balanced scoring was a season‑long trend, the championship game was led by the team’s eighth graders. Brady Ohle scored 15 points, while Michael Fields led all scorers with 16.
Ohle and Fields have been the Sharks’ top offensive threats throughout the season, combining their skills in complementary ways and rising to the occasion when it mattered most.
Carranante also credited his coaching staff and players for making the repeat championship possible.
“Between my fantastic assistant coaches and the hard‑working student‑athletes that comprised this team, I feel lucky to have the opportunity to coach them and grateful to be able to win our second straight district championship.”
With the win, the Sharks not only secured another championship trophy but also reinforced a program standard built on teamwork, toughness, and championship‑level defense.
