As we prepare to welcome students back for a new school year, we want to share an important update regarding leadership at Indiantown Middle School.
Since previously announced assignments were shared, adjustments have been made to leadership plans.
Indiantown Middle School has tremendous momentum heading into the 2026-2027 school year. Following the school's first A school grade since 2012 and the progress made by students and staff in recent years, the District is committed to ensuring the school's next chapter builds on that success.
To support that effort, the District has determined that additional time is needed to identify the next principal of Indiantown Middle School and will continue its search for the right leader. We recognize this update differs from what was previously communicated and appreciate the understanding, partnership, and continued support of our Thunderbird families as we prepare for another outstanding school year.
In the meantime, Mr. Guillermo Orozco, Coordinator of Student Services, has been recommended to serve as Interim Principal, pending School Board approval.
Mr. Orozco brings both district and school-based leadership experience, having previously served as an assistant principal at Hidden Oaks Middle School and Martin County High School. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with students, employees, and families to support student achievement and school success.
His appointment will help ensure a smooth start to the school year for our Thunderbirds while the District conducts a thoughtful search for a new school leader.
We are confident Indiantown Middle School is well-positioned for continued success, and we look forward to building on the strong foundation already in place while identifying the leader who will guide The Nest.
