Digital Video Technology

Students learn the importance of maintaining an organized and hazard-free workspace, handling equipment correctly, and following proper safety procedures during all phases of production. This foundation supports a deeper understanding of how to properly plan a production set, which includes organizing locations, staging, and securing all necessary resources before filming begins. Pre-production planning also involves creating shot lists, scheduling, and coordinating team roles so that each step of the process runs smoothly and effectively.

Arts, A/V Technology & Communications

As students advance, they develop skills in designing effective lighting plans that help establish the desired visual mood, tone, and clarity for each scene. They explore how different lighting setups can influence storytelling and audience perception. Along with lighting, students gain hands-on experience with camera operation, learning techniques such as framing, focus, composition, and camera movement to capture high-quality footage. Equal emphasis is placed on audio and video recording, as students practice capturing clear, balanced sound and sharp visuals. They come to understand that professional-quality production relies on the seamless integration of both audio and visual elements, ensuring the final product is engaging, polished, and technically sound.

Air Force Junior Reserves Officer's Training (JROTC)

The Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) curriculum is designed to build leadership, character, and citizenship skills in high school students. It is organized into three main components: Aerospace Science, Leadership Education, and Physical Training. The Aerospace Science portion explores topics such as aviation history, the fundamentals of flight, space exploration, and the development of airpower. Leadership Education focuses on helping students develop communication skills, ethical decision-making, teamwork, and personal responsibility, preparing them to succeed in both academic and real-world environments.

In addition to classroom learning, the AFJROTC curriculum emphasizes practical experiences and personal growth. Students participate in activities like drill and ceremonies, community service projects, and leadership labs that strengthen discipline and confidence. Extracurricular opportunities such as color guard, drill teams, and academic competitions further enhance engagement and skill development. Although the program incorporates military structure and traditions, its primary goal is not military recruitment but rather to prepare students for success in any career path by fostering leadership, respect, and civic responsibility.
