The Martin County School District’s annual Cardboard Boat Races returned for another year of creativity, competition, and plenty of memorable moments on the water on Saturday, April 25.
Held at the Martin County High School pool, the 8th Annual Cardboard Boat Races challenged students to design and build boats using their creativity, problem-solving skills, and teamwork. While some vessels sailed across the pool and others made a quicker-than-expected splash, every team brought innovation and school spirit to the competition.
This year’s event marked an exciting milestone as middle school students joined the races for the first time, expanding an opportunity that has encouraged elementary students to explore engineering concepts, design thinking, and collaboration for years.
