Jade Norwood New Principal

The Martin County School District is pleased to share that Ms. Jayde Norwood has been named Principal of J.D. Parker Elementary School after the Martin County School Board approved her appointment during its July 21 meeting.

Ms. Norwood brings more than a decade of experience in education, including leadership roles in instructional coaching, school administration, and elementary education.

Most recently, she served as an assistant principal with the School District of Indian River County, where she supported instructional leadership, school improvement initiatives, and positive school culture. During her tenure, she helped lead efforts that contributed to an increase of more than 60 points in school performance over three years while maintaining an โ€œAโ€ school grade.

She began her career as an elementary school teacher before moving into instructional coaching, where she partnered with teachers to strengthen classroom instruction through professional learning and data-informed practices. She later served as Summer School Principal, overseeing district summer learning programs and supporting student achievement.

J.D. Parker Elementary School looks forward to the experience, leadership, and dedication Ms. Norwood will bring to its students, staff, and families.
