Martin County High School is proud to announce that Ms. Chanda Leon has been named the Martin County School District’s 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year!
At just 28 years into her teaching career, Ms. Leon continues to radiate positivity and passion for education. Her personal theme, “Never Stop Shining,” couldn’t be more fitting. It reflects the light she brings to her classroom and the inspiration she shares with both students and colleagues every single day.
Ms. Leon joined the Martin County School District in 2010 and has dedicated 24 years here to shaping young minds. Her commitment to excellence and her ability to spark curiosity in her students have made her a beloved figure at MCHS and beyond.
On Friday, November 14, 2025, Ms. Leon was honored during the Education Foundation of Martin County’s Teacher of the Year Awards Celebration at the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Events Center in Port St. Lucie. The event, made possible through the generous support of Audi Stuart, Infiniti Stuart, and Alfa Romeo Stuart, was a beautiful evening celebrating the incredible educators who make a difference every day.
As the District Teacher of the Year, Ms. Leon will now represent Martin County in the Florida Department of Education’s Teacher of the Year competition.
