MCHS Criminal Justice Students Earn 13 Awards

The Martin County High School Criminal Justice (CJUS) Competition Team delivered an impressive performance at the Florida Public Service Association (FPSA) South Regional Competition this past weekend, earning placements in thirteen events across multiple public service disciplines.

More than 100 students from several high schools participated in the regional event, which featured challenges such as Public Speaking, Vehicle Stops, Forensics, and Obstacle Course activities. MCHS competitors demonstrated exceptional skill, preparation, and professionalism throughout the competition.

Top Individual and Team Results

Lighton Cristoforo continued his leadership streak, earning:

  • 1st Place — Prepared Speaking (second consecutive year)

  • 2nd Place — Public Information Officer

Jaxon Stewart & Brady Gambotz showcased strong communication and tactical ability with a:

  • 2nd Place — High Risk Vehicle Stop

In the Forensics category, MCHS earned two placements:

  • Ariana Pablo — 2nd Place, Fingerprint ID

  • Ashley Luna — 3rd Place, Fingerprint ID

Sophia Garcia earned recognition in two events:

  • 2nd Place — Extemporaneous Speaking

  • 5th Place — Obstacle Course

Brady Gambotz, competing for the first time, earned placements in three events:

  • 3rd Place — Extemporaneous Speaking

  • 4th Place — Obstacle Course

  • 2nd Place — High Risk Vehicle Stop (with partner Jaxon Stewart)

Additional recognitions included:

  • Christian Noriega — 4th Place, Evidence Packaging

  • Eli Gray — 5th Place, Obstacle Course

  • Stella Reily — 5th Place, Trifold Presentation

  • Gary Sosa — 2nd Place, Digital Pamphlet

Celebrating Excellence in Public Service Education

MCHS administrators and CJUS program leaders praised the students for their dedication to training in public service pathways, noting the strong teamwork and preparation evident in each event. The accomplishments at regionals reflect the strength of the CJUS program and its commitment to developing future leaders in law enforcement and public safety.

The team will now look ahead to future competitions and continued preparation for the FPSA State Conference later this year.
