In partnership with Florida Prepaid College Savings Plans, one graduating senior from the Martin County School District is awarded the Superintendent Scholarship each year, valued at approximately $8,000.
This year, Superintendent Michael Maine surprised Martin County High School senior Ava Greco with the scholarship as she prepared to make her final walk as a member of the Class of 2026.
Ava’s journey to this moment reflects resilience, determination, and a steady commitment to her goals. Throughout high school, she balanced dual enrollment coursework, the Cambridge AICE program, extracurricular involvement, and a 3.4 GPA, all while navigating personal challenges.
“Ava’s story stood out because of her perseverance,” Superintendent Maine shared. “She has continued to push forward, even when things weren’t easy, and that drive speaks volumes."
This fall, Ava will attend Florida Atlantic University, where she plans to study psychology and pursue her goal of helping others.
