Martin County High School is proud to celebrate an extraordinary achievement by one of its own: Sueanna “Jasmine” Doris-Capra, who earned national recognition in the 2026 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, one of the most prestigious programs honoring creative students across the country.
Jasmine received both a National Gold Medal and the highly selective American Vision Award, placing her among the top young artists in the nation. These honors distinguish her work as exceptional not only at the regional level, but across the entire United States.
The American Vision Award represents one of the highest accolades granted in the Scholastic Awards program. Only a small number of works are selected from each region, recognizing artistic pieces that demonstrate outstanding originality, technical skill, and a powerful personal voice. Jasmine’s selection highlights her ability to communicate meaning and emotion through her craft at the highest level.
This year’s competition was especially competitive, with more than 110,000 students submitting over 335,000 works of art and writing nationwide. Jasmine’s work stood out among entries judged by distinguished leaders in the visual and literary arts—an accomplishment that underscores both her talent and her dedication.
As a National Medalist, Jasmine joins a celebrated alumni community that includes influential artists and writers such as Andy Warhol, Stephen King, and Amanda Gorman. Her recognition places her within this inspiring legacy of creative excellence.
Jasmine’s award-winning work will be showcased in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards’ national online galleries and published in the 2026 Yearbook, ensuring her artistry is recognized and shared on a national stage.
In recognition of her achievement, Jasmine attended the National Scholastic Awards Ceremony at Carnegie Hall in New York City on June 10, joining other top student artists from across the country in a celebration of creativity and accomplishment.

This remarkable achievement reflects not only Jasmine’s exceptional artistic ability, but also her commitment, perseverance, and passion for creative expression. The Martin County High School community proudly celebrates her success and looks forward to her continued accomplishments.
Congratulations, Jasmine—your Tiger family is proud of you!
