Palm City Elementary School will soon bid a heartfelt farewell to Assistant Principal Elizabeth Atkinson as she prepares to transition into a new leadership role as the principal of Bessey Creek Elementary for the 2025–2026 school year.
Ms. Atkinson has been an integral part of the Palm City Elementary community, serving as assistant principal since 2022 and teaching at the school for many years prior. Her impact has been felt across campus—leading collaborative instructional planning, championing student support systems, and fostering meaningful connections with families and community partners. From her work guiding school improvement to her leadership in environmental initiatives that earned state recognition, Ms. Atkinson has embodied the core values of our school.
Though she will be missed, we are incredibly proud of Ms. Atkinson’s accomplishments and excited for the new opportunities ahead of her at Bessey Creek Elementary.
The Martin County School District will begin its search for Palm City Elementary’s next assistant principal immediately. Families will be kept informed as updates become available.
