The Martin County School District is pleased to share that Ms. Amy Porter has been recommended to serve as the next Principal of The Pinewood Elementary School.

A familiar face to the Pinewood community, Ms. Porter has served as assistant principal since 2023, partnering with students, employees, and families to support academic achievement and foster a positive school culture. With more than 20 years of experience in education, she has served as a teacher, literacy coach, school administrator, and State Regional Literacy Director with the Florida Department of Education.

Since previously announced administrative assignments were shared, the District has made an adjustment to leadership plans for Pinewood Elementary. Given Ms. Porter's experience, leadership, and the strong relationships she has built within the school community, she has been recommended to serve as principal.

Joining Ms. Porter on Pinewood's leadership team is Ms. Dayna Carroll, who has been recommended to serve as Assistant Principal. Ms. Carroll most recently served as Assistant Principal at SeaWind Elementary School and is also returning to familiar ground. Earlier in her career, she taught first and third grade at Pinewood and later served as the school's literacy coach. Since joining the Martin County School District in 2001, she has dedicated her career to serving students, families, and educators throughout our community.

Together, Ms. Porter and Ms. Carroll bring extensive educational experience and a strong understanding of the Pinewood community. We are excited for this next chapter as the Panthers continue building on recent academic gains and positive momentum.

Their appointments will be presented to the Martin County School Board for consideration.
