Thank you for keeping your child engaged in books and excited about reading during Summer Break!
Because you are a very important member of your child's educational support team, we are reaching out to remind you that your child can use Accelerated Reader - our independent practice program - at home over the Summer Break.
The Martin County School District uses Accelerated Reader to help promote and encourage reading. This platform allows us to:
Provide opportunities for students in grades K-5 to read independently and engage with fiction and non-fiction text
Provide opportunities for students to demonstrate an understanding of what they have read by taking a quiz
Increase a student’s independent reading fluency
MCSD Reads! Summer Reading Challenge 2023:
Students will read books and take quizzes throughout June
Students will track their quiz scores on the MCSD Reads! Summer Reading Challenge Bingo Card
Complete any five boxes. Count the 'Free Space' only if you complete 5 in a row.
Students will turn in the Bingo card in when they return in August to receive an MCSD Reads! Summer Challenge Special Edition Charm
