✅ Present at School Requirements
To be marked present at school, students must meet all of the following expectations:

• Arrive on Time: Students should be ready to start the school day at the designated time.

• Attend a Full Day: Students must remain on campus for the entirety of the school day.

• Actively Participate: Students engage in class discussions, activities, and lessons.

• Complete Assigned Work: Students complete all work assigned during class.

• Stay Engaged: Students maintain focus on learning and avoid distractions.

• Follow School Expectations: Students follow all classroom and school rules, including device policies and behavior expectations.

• Check in with Teachers/Mentors: Students communicate regularly with staff as needed.

The Online Learning Option has updated requirements and expectations that are different from last year. Participation is now more structured and requires students to meet specific eligibility criteria and follow strict weekly and daily requirements in order to remain enrolled in this option.  

✅ Online Learning Eligibility 

To qualify for online learning, students must meet all the following criteria: 

• Academic Placement Only: Student is enrolled at Spectrum Academy for academic reasons, not here for a Behavior. 

• State Testing Requirements Met: Student has completed all required state assessments. 

• On-Campus Unit Testing: All unit tests must be taken at school. Tests will not be unlocked at home. 

📅 Weekly In-Person Attendance Requirements  

Online students are required to attend school in person a minimum of once per week for a full day. This weekly visit is essential for: 

• Checking in with mentors and teachers 

• Taking unit tests 

• Staying accountable and on track 

💻 Daily Learning Expectations 

Students must be actively engaged in online learning each day — not sitting idle. To be marked Present Online, students must: 

• Log the required number of learning hours 

• Complete assigned work 

• Remain on pace and passing in all classes 

⚠️ Failure to meet these expectations will result in a U – Unexcused Absence for the day. 

🚫 Not Eligible for Online Learning 

Students at Spectrum Academy for behavioral reasons are not eligible for online learning and are required to attend school in person every day. Failure to attend regularly may jeopardize a student's ability to return to their comprehensive school. 

⚠️ Important Reminder 

Students who do not consistently meet the eligibility, attendance, and learning expectations will have their online learning privileges revoked and will be required to return to daily, on-campus attendance.
