On Tuesday, December 16, 2025, the Martin County School Board recognized South Fork High School student Aria Kaul as the Martin County School District's representative in the 2026 Sunshine State Scholars program. Martin County High School student Nina Goyal was also recognized as the alternate for this year's program.
Each year, Florida school districts select their top 11th-grade students in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) to participate in the Sunshine State Scholars program. Each school district's chosen scholar, along with their parents, is given the opportunity to participate in an extraordinary event designed to connect them with employers that specialize in the STEM fields and create a networking opportunity between themselves and schools from Florida’s College and State University System. The two-day program honors each scholar for their significant academic accomplishments and celebrates the potential they represent for their communities and our state.
Aria and her family will participate in the 2026 Sunshine State Scholars program, which will be held on March 5-6, 2025, in Orlando, Florida.
