Five Martin County School District seniors have been named semifinalists in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program, a renowned academic competition for recognition and scholarships that began in 1955.
More than 1.3 million high school juniors entered the competition by taking the 2025 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. The highest-scoring participants in each state, representing less than 1% of high school seniors, were named semifinalists. Finalists will be announced in the spring of 2027.
