Two Martin County School District seniors were named two of the 626 high school seniors assemifinalists for the distinguished Cooke College Scholarship Program.
Cooke College Scholars are selected based on exceptional academic ability and achievement, financial need, persistence, service to others, and leadership.
Alejandra Acuna, a senior at Jensen Beach High School, and Peter Lin, a senior at South Fork High School, were selected from a pool of over 5,600 applicants from across the country.
Semifinalist applications will be reviewed once more to choose finalists to receive the scholarship. The 2023 Cooke College Scholarship recipients will be announced in March.
Those who are awarded the Cooke College Foundation Scholarship could receive up to $55,000 each year to cover the costs of college.
