The South Fork High School Marksmanship Team competes in Area 3 South. All competitions are sanctioned by the National Three-Position Air Rifle Council and athletes competing in these matches are eligible to earn National Council achievement awards and national records. Marksmanship training consists of three phases: basic rifle marksmanship, target acquisition, and specificity training. Within those three phases, Cadets shoot in the standing kneeling, and prone positions.

Army Marksmanship Unit Provides Training to Florida JROTC Marksmanship Coaches

Important Information

  • Practice is from 3:15-5:15 Tuesdays and Thursdays.

  • Transportation after practice will be provided by the district school bus which departs @ 5:45pm.

Associated Awards

  • Marksmanship Ribbon (N-3-7): Complete at least one marksmanship season (September - December).

  • Marksmanship Cord (Tan): Must complete one marksmanship season (September - December) and compete in at least two

    competitions.

  • Marksmanship Arc: Must complete one marksmanship season (September - December) and compete in at least two

    competitions.

  • JROTC Marksman Badge: Score a 180-210 in a 3x10 competition or 360-420 in a 3x20

  • JROTC Sharpshooter Badge: Score a 211-240 in a 3x10 competition or 421-480 in a 3x20

  • JROTC Expert Badge: Score a 241 or above in a 3x10 competition or 481 or above in a 3x20

  • Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) Pins: Gold (510+), Silver (480+), Bronze (440+)

  • Excellence-in-Competition (EIC) Points: Gold (555+), Silver (545+), Bronze (535+)
