HONOR UNIT WITH DISTINCTION

SFHS JROTC Retains their Honor Unit With Distinction Ranking

Cadets in the 2023-2024 school year were awarded a gold star for the unit's achievement in earning the title "Honor Unit with Distinction". An Honor Unit with Distinction (HUD) is one that has demonstrated exceptional performance in all areas of program operation. In order to be awarded this rating, a JROTC program must score at least 95%. In 2024, Bulldog Battalion received a score of 98.5% . In 2020, Bulldog Battalion received a 99% score on the overall evaluation.

JROTC Mission

JROTC is a service to our nation, in that it provides Cadets the motivation and skills needed to improve physical fitness; remain drug free; think critically and creatively; communicate effectively; work as a team member; graduate from high school; pursue meaningful careers (especially in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)); and become successful citizens. JROTC works to instill the values of citizenship, service to the community and the United States, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment in students at secondary educational institutions. It incorporates 21st Century learning, supportive of school-wide expectations and educations goals, promotes healthy lifestyles, develops leadership, strengthens positive self-motivation and enhances global awareness, to include, providing a historical perspective of military service.

SFHS Army JROTC Instructors DO NOT RECRUIT OR SEND Cadets/Students to any Military Service.

I am an Army JROTC Cadet.

I will always conduct myself to bring credit to my family, country, school and the Corps of Cadets.

I am loyal and patriotic. I am the future of the United States of America.

I do not lie, cheat or steal and will always be accountable for my actions and deeds.

I will always practice good citizenship and patriotism.

I will work hard to improve my mind and strengthen my body.

I will seek the mantle of leadership and stand prepared to uphold the Constitution and the American way of life.

La Mision Del JROTC

JROTC es un servicio a nuestra nación, en el sentido de que proporciona a los Cadetes la motivación y las habilidades para mejorar la aptitud física; permanecer libres de drogas; pensar crítica y creativamente; comunicarse eficazmente; trabajar como miembro del equipo; graduarse de la escuela secundaria; Perseguir carreras significativas especialmente en las áreas de ciencia, tecnología, ingeniería y matemáticas (STEM); y convertirse en ciudadanos exitosos.
