Throughout the 2022-2023 school year, the Martin County School District hosted its annual Academic Games where elementary and middle school students compete in a series of games played in three subjects: English, Math, and Social Studies.
The LinguiSHTIK and Equations games are played with cubes, and students make word or number sentences that follow the criteria set by the players. Social Studies involves a trivia game in the categories of Presidents, Current Events, and a yearly Theme. This year's theme was “The Cold War.” The District competitions ran from September through February, with 66 students participating in person and via Zoom.
Students moved on from the District games to the State tournament, which was held on February 26. Students then moved on to the National tournament, held in Orlando and took place April 21 - 24.
