Fifth-grade students from across the Martin County School District came together on April 18, 2026, for a day of competition, collaboration, and critical thinking during the 4th Annual MCSD Math Olympics, hosted as the exciting finale to Math Week 2026.
Representing all 12 District-operated elementary schools, students put their math skills to the test in a series of challenging rounds designed to measure problem-solving, mathematical reasoning, teamwork, and speed. Modeled after the nationally recognized MATHCOUNTS competition format, the event challenged students to think quickly, communicate effectively, and work together under pressure.
The Math Olympics continues to serve as an opportunity for students to strengthen confidence in mathematics while building the skills needed for future academic success. Beyond the competition itself, the event reflects the purpose of MCSD Math Week—celebrating curiosity, encouraging perseverance, and helping students see themselves as capable problem-solvers.
Special congratulations to the following schools, who earned the top three spots at the end of the competition:
1st Place: Felix A. Williams Elementary School
2nd Place: Palm City Elementary School
3rd Place: J.D. Parker Elementary School
Felix A. Williams Elementary made history as being the District’s first-ever back-to-back champions.
We are proud of all the students who participated in this year’s event and grateful for the teachers, coaches, and staff who helped prepare them for success. Their enthusiasm, determination, and teamwork continue to reflect the excellence of our A-rated District. We look forward to watching these young mathematicians continue to grow and thrive as they transition into middle school!
