Alcira Gonzalez named AP at Warfield Elementary

The Martin County School Board approved the appointment of Alcira Gonzalez as Assistant Principal of Warfield Elementary School during its meeting on June 16, 2026.

Ms. Gonzalez brings extensive experience in education, student support and instructional leadership to her new role. A dedicated bilingual educator, she has spent more than two decades serving students, families and schools throughout the Martin County School District.

Most recently, Ms. Gonzalez served as Assistant Principal at Port Salerno Elementary School. Prior to that role, she served as a District Prevention/Intervention Program Specialist, where she developed and led districtwide initiatives focused on student outcomes, supporting multilingual learners and increasing family engagement.

Throughout her career, Ms. Gonzalez has demonstrated a commitment to building positive relationships, supporting student growth and creating opportunities for all learners to thrive. Her leadership experience spans both school-based and district-level roles, including at Warfield Elementary, providing her with a broad perspective on meeting the needs of students and families.

Ms. Gonzalez holds a master’s degree in administration and supervision from Liberty University and a bachelor’s degree in teaching English to speakers of other languages from Hobe Sound Bible College. She is certified in Educational Leadership and ESOL (K-12) and is a two-time participant in the District’s Aspiring Leaders Academy.

Ms. Gonzalaez will begin her new role as Assistant Principal of Warfield Elementary School on July 1, 2026, joining Principal Sumner and Assistant Principal Albano.
