COVID-19 Information for Employees

Employee Quarantine Guidelines

The Martin County School District remains focused on protecting the health and safety of students and staff. Please review this work environment update for an explanation of health-related standards and protocols.

In July, the Martin County School Board approved the Risk Mitigation Strategies that will be in place for students and employees.

The top three strategies include:

  • COVID-19 Vaccination: Vaccinations are voluntary, and available at no cost throughout our community. Please click here to locate a provider near you. Per the Florida Department of Health (DOH Martin), fully vaccinated staff do not need to quarantine if they are identified as a close contact of a positive case as long as they remain symptom-free. Employees are encouraged to review public health guidance and speak with their healthcare providers about vaccination. The CDC and DOH Martin advise that unvaccinated individuals are at the greatest risk of serious illness from COVID-19.

  • Masks: Masks are voluntary for students and staff. Although masks are optional, DOH Martin strongly recommends employees consider wearing masks while working, especially when social distancing is not possible, whether they vaccinated or not. The District will continue to provide masks at every site for those that choose to wear one.

  •  Stay Home When Sick: Please do not come to a school or a work site if you are not feeling well. It is critical that you immediately tell your principal or supervisor if you have been diagnosed with, are experiencing symptoms of, or have been exposed to COVID-19. If you need to report an exposure or positive COVID-19 test result outside of normal working hours, please call (772) 260-8071.

Employees are encouraged to utilize the District’s new Symptom Checker / Verificación de Síntomas tools, which are available on our website. These tools provide information about hundreds of symptoms and related illnesses. They also provide guidance on when to seek care, as well as listings of local providers who are included as part of our Florida Blue Network. Please monitor your symptoms daily. If you need to report a positive COVID-19 test result outside of normal work hours, please call (772) 260-8071.

The voluntary reporting of positive COVID-19 test results greatly expedites the Florida Department of Health’s contact tracing process.  To report a positive test result during normal business hours, please contact your supervisor or the Office of Risk Management at (772) 219-1200 ext. 30206If you wish to report a positive test result outside of normal business hours, please call our established COVID-19 hotline at (772) 260-8071.

Testing Information: All MCSD employees are eligible to receive COVID-19 testing with expedited results through a partnership with Treasure Coast Urgent Care.

  • Employees must call (772) 419-0560 between the hours of 8 a.m. – 3:45 p.m. Monday – Friday and 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
