MCSD Hires new Director of Safety and Security

The Martin County School Board approved the appointment of Philip ‘P.J.’ Morgan as the Director of Safety and Security during its Regular School Board Meeting on November 21, 2023.

Mr. Morgan is joining the District with more than 20 years of valuable experience from his distinguished service with the New York City Police Department, coupled with the past three years of devotion to ensuring the safety of students and staff as an officer with the Palm Beach County School District Police Department.

Mr. Morgan possesses extensive knowledge of law enforcement and school safety, including being thoroughly familiar with Florida's Safe School Assessment requirements. His skill in school policing is apparent through his dedication to cultivating positive connections with both students and staff. Mr. Morgan prioritizes fostering an environment where students and adults feel secure and supported by focusing on collaboration and a community-oriented safety strategy.

“I am confident that Mr. Morgan’s leadership will further strengthen our District’s commitment to providing a safe environment that is conducive to learning for all students and staff,” shared Superintendent Michael Maine. “Alongside Mr. Frank Frangella and our Safety and Security Department, I look forward to the positive impact Mr. Morgan will undoubtedly bring to our school community.”
