The Martin County School District (MCSD) and the Martin County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) are pleased to report that productive discussions have taken place to resolve the funding challenges associated with the School Resource Officer (SRO) program in our schools.
Together, our shared commitment to school safety and mutual willingness to find a fair and balanced financial solution have resulted in a positive resolution for the benefit of our entire community. We proudly confirm that MCSO's school resource deputies will continue to serve all MCSD-operated campuses.
This renewed partnership, which will appear before the School Board for final approval in June 2025, ensures that trained, sworn law enforcement officers will continue building meaningful relationships with our students and staff in each of our educational settings.
