project search 2025

A major milestone was celebrated as six students with special needs graduated from the Project SEARCH program at Cleveland Clinic Martin North, marking the successful completion of a transformative year of job training and skill development.

Project SEARCH is a collaborative partnership between the Martin County School District and Cleveland Clinic that offers students with disabilities immersive, hands-on work experience in a hospital setting. The program equips participants with real-world skills and confidence, preparing them for meaningful employment and independent living.

Throughout the year, students rotated through various departments within the hospital, learning tasks such as restocking medical supplies, filing documents, pulling patient records, and helping in the kitchen. These experiences were designed to mirror actual workforce expectations, providing students with the tools they need to succeed beyond the classroom.

The graduation ceremony celebrated the growth and determination of each student, highlighting their readiness to transition into the workforce. One graduate has already secured employment within the Martin County School District’s Food & Nutrition Services Department—an inspiring testament to the program’s impact.

As the current cohort moves on to new opportunities, the District is pleased to welcome eight new students to next year’s program. The continued success of Project SEARCH reinforces the District’s commitment to ensuring all students, regardless of ability, are prepared for productive and fulfilling futures.

The Martin County School District congratulates this year’s Project SEARCH graduates and thanks Cleveland Clinic and all community partners who make this program possible.
