The Martin County School District is pleased to announce that Superintendent Michael Maine will recommend Adelle Sumner for School Board approval as the next principal of Warfield Elementary School.
Ms. Sumner brings more than two decades of experience in education, including 11 years as an assistant principal at Belle Glade Elementary in Palm Beach County. During her tenure, the school saw steady academic growth, improved outcomes for students receiving Exceptional Student Education (ESE) services, and increased family and community involvement. She also led efforts to strengthen school culture and reduce disciplinary incidents.
In every role she has held, Ms. Sumner has prioritized literacy, math achievement, and building strong relationships with families, students, and staff. She is also deeply committed to supporting teacher development and creating a collaborative environment where educators are empowered to grow and succeed.
As principal of Warfield Elementary, Ms. Sumner is expected to bring that same student-centered leadership, academic focus, and community connection to Indiantown. Her passion for educating all students for success, combined with her experience leading school improvement efforts, will support continued progress at Warfield.
She holds a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, both from Lynn University. Ms. Sumner is certified in Educational Leadership and Elementary Education (K-6), and she holds an ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) endorsement.
Please join us in welcoming Ms. Sumner to Martin County!
