School Board Adopts Final Budget for 25-26

During its Board Meeting held on September 9, 2025, the Martin County School Board adopted the District's final budget for fiscal year 2025-2026. The approved budget is $588,981,339. The budget includes $256,798,051 for the District’s General Fund, which covers operational costs (including employee salaries and benefits, curriculum materials and utilities) and $119,823,599 for the Capital Projects budget (for acquisition or construction of facilities and improvements to existing facilities).

The state of Florida authorizes the maximum amount of millage each district can levy. During the final TRIM hearing, in an unprecedented move, the Martin County School Board authorized a rate of 5.177, which is 1.47% lower than the rollback rate. As a result, the District will operate with less money in its wallet in 2025–2026 than in 2024–2025. For taxpayers, this means their bill should stay the same or decrease, depending on property assessments.
