State of the District

The Martin County School District, in partnership with the Education Foundation of Martin County, proudly hosted its inaugural State of the District Breakfast on September 12, 2025.

The event brought together more than 100 attendees, including school principals, business partners, school board members, and community leaders. Elected officials such as judges, county commissioners, city council members, and Sheriff John Budensiek also joined in support of the District’s mission to inspire learning, prepare for success, and celebrate achievement.

Superintendent Michael Maine delivered the keynote presentation, sharing updates about the District’s progress and vision for the future. A central focus of his remarks was the vital role that community partnerships play in helping students thrive. The breakfast provided an opportunity for local businesses to explore meaningful ways to support schools, staff, and students across Martin County.

Guests were treated to special performances that highlighted the talents and discipline of District students. The OPUS choir from Martin County High School delivered a musical performance, while South Fork High School’s JROTC cadets presented the colors and led the Pledge of Allegiance.

“This inaugural event underscored the importance of collaboration between our schools and the community,” Superintendent Maine said. “When we work together, we can create opportunities that empower every student to succeed.”

The Martin County School District thanks the Education Foundation of Martin County for its sponsorship of the breakfast and extends its gratitude to all who attended. The District looks forward to building upon this momentum in the years to come.
