The Martin County School District (MCSD) is pleased to announce that it has reached a tentative salary agreement with the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Local 597 for the 2025-2026 contract year.

Key highlights of the agreement include:

Years of Experience Salary Adjustment (YES)

  • AFSCME bargaining unit employees with 0-19 years of verified experience in the Martin County School District will receive a one-time adjustment of $60. Employees with 20 or more years of verified experience will receive a one-time adjustment of $80. This would be part of the bargaining unit member's base salary.

Across-the-Board Pay Increase:

  • In addition to the YES adjustment, ALL AFSCME bargaining unit employees will receive a 2.65% increase to their base pay.

One-Time Lump Sum Payment for FNS Employees

  • Food & Nutrition Services employees who work less than 6 hours per day will receive a one-time incentive supplement of $1,000.

  • Food & Nutrition Services employees who work 6 or more hours per day will receive a one-time incentive supplement of $2,000.

  • This will be a lump sum payment, prorated based on the start date, to be paid by the final payroll of the employee's work calendar.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Employees must be active members of the AFSCME bargaining unit on the date of ratification and actively employed at the time of dispersement.

The total amount dedicated to all pieces of the tentative salary agreement is equal to $1,189,155.

This agreement will take effect upon ratification by AFSCME members and the Martin County School Board. School Board ratification is scheduled for November 18, 2025, pending AFSCME ratification.
