The Martin County School District has released a new episode of its All In Martin podcast, focusing on how the District is safely and thoughtfully integrating artificial intelligence into teaching and learning.
In this month’s episode, Digital Learning Specialists Kelsey Mulvanerton and Patrick Cermeno share an overview of MCSD’s AI journey—how it began, what has been learned, and what families can expect moving forward. Both former teachers, Mulvanerton and Cermeno have helped guide the District’s work to introduce AI in ways that support instruction while protecting student privacy.
The discussion highlights the early stages of AI use in the 2023–2024 school year, when teachers began exploring AI as a planning and productivity tool. It also outlines the major steps taken in 2024–2025, including the launch of the District’s first AI Teacher Leaders Program and the adoption of approved, secure tools for student use.
