The Martin County School Board held its annual reorganizational meeting last night, selecting its leadership for the 2025–2026 school year. The Board elected Mrs. Marsha Powers (District 2) to serve as Chair and Dr. Brian Moriarty (District 5) to serve as Vice Chair.
During the meeting, the Board also approved its annual meeting calendar.
Each year, the reorganizational meeting provides an opportunity for Board members to establish their leadership structure for the coming year, ensuring continuity as they carry out their responsibilities to students, staff, families, and the community.
As Chair, Mrs. Powers will preside over School Board meetings, represent the Board at official functions, and help guide the Board’s governance priorities. Dr. Moriarty will support the Chair and assume leadership duties when needed.
The District congratulates both leaders and looks forward to a productive year of collaboration focused on student achievement, organizational excellence, and continued progress in service of the Martin County community.
