MCEA and MCSD reach TA on Millage

The Martin County School District and the Martin County Education Association (MCEA) reached a tentative agreement during a collective bargaining session on Feb. 10 regarding the millage supplement for instructional personnel.

The tentative agreement is outlined in a proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and addresses how millage supplement payments would be distributed based on years of experience.

The following is what was tentatively agreed upon:

For the 2025-2026 school year:

  • 0 Years of Experience: $0.00 of Millage Supplement Awarded

  • 1-5 Years of Experience: $1,800.00 of Millage Supplement Awarded

  • 6-9 Years of Experience: $5,000.00 of Millage Supplement Awarded

  • 10-13 Years of Experience: $8,000.00 of Millage Supplement Awarded

  • 14+ Years of Experience: $10,050.00 of Millage Supplement Awarded

From June 2026 to June 2030:

  • 0 Years of Experience: $3,000.00 of Millage Supplement Awarded

  • 1-5 Years of Experience: $3,500.00 of Millage Supplement Awarded

  • 6-9 Years of Experience: $5,500.00 of Millage Supplement Awarded

  • 10-13 Years of Experience: $8,500.00 of Millage Supplement Awarded

  • 14+ Years of Experience: $10,500.00 of Millage Supplement Awarded

Starting the 25-26 school year, millage supplement payments will be paid to current employees on or before the last pay period in June of each school year.

While a tentative agreement has been reached at the bargaining table, the MOU is not yet final. The tentative agreement is subject to ratification by both the Martin County School Board and the membership of the Martin County Education Association before it becomes official.

Additional information regarding the ratification process and next steps will be shared once available. Until ratification occurs, the terms of the tentative agreement are not in effect.
