Mrs. Holmedal has served MCSD since 2014 and has been instrumental in strengthening the District’s school nutrition program, ensuring students have consistent access to high-quality, nutritious meals that support learning, wellness, and overall success.
School nutrition professionals across the country share a common mission: ensuring every student is well-fed and ready to learn. Among peers throughout the state, Mrs. Holmedal’s leadership, commitment, and impact set her apart.
The Director of the Year Award recognizes excellence across five key areas: program enhancement, management and staff development, school involvement, SNA involvement, and community outreach. Mrs. Holmedal’s work reflects a strong commitment in each of these areas, from continuously improving meal programs to supporting and developing her team, engaging with schools, and building meaningful connections throughout the community.
“Mrs. Holmedal’s passion for serving students and supporting her team is evident in everything she does,” Superintendent Michael Maine said. “We are grateful for her leadership and proud to see her recognized at this level.”
Mrs. Holmedal will be formally recognized at the School Nutrition Association’s national conference, The Gathering Table, where school nutrition leaders from across the country come together to share best practices and celebrate excellence in the field.
Congratulations to Mrs. Holmedal on this recognition, reflecting the meaningful work she does for students every day.
