Roberts Named Chair of FSLRS

The Martin County School District is proud to announce that School Board Member Christia Li Roberts (District 1) has been named Chair of the Florida School Labor Relations Service (FSLRS), a statewide organization dedicated to supporting school districts in labor relations and collective bargaining efforts.

At full membership, the FSLRS is composed of eight school board members and eight school superintendents from across the state who work collaboratively to provide guidance, professional learning, and resources that support effective labor management relationships and school district operations. The organization also serves as the fiscal agent for Florida Educational Negotiators (FEN).

Mrs. Roberts has served on the FSLRS Board of Directors since 2021 and most recently held the position of Vice Chair. Her ascension to Chair reflects her experience and continued involvement in statewide educational leadership efforts.

As Chair, Roberts will help guide the organization’s work in supporting districts across Florida, contributing to discussions and initiatives that impact thousands of educators, staff and school systems statewide.

Her new role as Chair ensures the Martin County School District will continue to have a strong voice in statewide conversations surrounding workforce practices, labor relations, and the operational issues that affect public education. It also reflects the District's ongoing commitment to contributing to the advancement of public education beyond the local level through effective governance, collaboration, and leadership.
