Jensen Beach Elementary School's Basketball Club player goes in for a layup and makes it.

Students at Jensen Beach Elementary School took to the court for a basketball tournament that showcased more than athletic skills.

Through the Basketball Club, Cheerleading Team and Hype Squad, students demonstrated teamwork, sportsmanship and school pride while supporting one another throughout the event.

The Basketball Club was originally established with support from the Education Foundation of Martin County and has continued to grow each year, providing students with opportunities to build resilience, character and camaraderie both on and off the court.

The tournament also featured a special appearance from Superintendent Michael Maine, who joined the fun during a halftime free-throw challengewith Principal Christina Smith, Assistant Principal Jamie Law and Director of Risk and Benefits Don Calderonethat energized the crowd and added to an already memorable day for students, staff and families.
